Summer event at churchyard development

by James Renoux-Wood Thu 10 July 2014, 10:06 am

An event takes place on 19 July to celebrate the new improved public realm surrounding St Mark’s Churchyard.

Railings have been removed, new granite steps installed and circular benches built around the bases of trees at the churchyard’s gardens, in advance of work starting on Cathedral Group’s £90 million development of the square.

The event will be the official opening of the gardens and feature activities for children and live music from the Crystal Palace brass band.

The project was a collaboration between the London Borough of Bromley, the Diocese of Rochester, architects Studio Egret West and the Cathedral Group and funded through the mayor of London’s Outer London Fund.
