Essential Land prepares site for development

The developer Essential Land is clearing the way for building work to begin at the Langley Court scheme in Bromley.
Stockpiles of crushed material from demolished buildings are being moved and a haul road has been completed to direct site traffic away from the site’s border.
Essential Land expects the building of the new homes will begin within a few months and at that point the first properties will be available to reserve off-plan.
The development will include 179 homes of different sizes and tenures – 64 three, five and six-bedroom private houses; 36 two and three-bed private apartments, and 79 properties for either shared ownership or affordable rent.
The scheme also includes a Centre of Excellence for Junior Sport: the Park Langley Junior Sports Academy will make use of the existing playing fields for sports such as tennis, cricket, football, netball, dance, gymnastics and martial arts, and will offer specialist services such as sports physiotherapists, psychologists and nutritionists.
A waterside park will feature a landscaped lake, a green corridor along the River Beck, a village green, a bandstand and two play areas.
Essential Land is now focusing on the basic infrastructure for the site – the main roads through the site, as well as sewage and flood mitigation.
Once the developer appoints a suitable contractor, work to complete the basic infrastructure will take approximately nine months.
